I seriously hope not. As a couple of the commenters on this piece state, the anonymity of Banksy is one of the great ‘wonders’ of modern life in my opinion. I have oft wondered how the hell he stays anonymous and figured that if someone wanted to let it slip they could. Trust the Daily Fail to take up the task of being twats. I bet this article loses them a few readers (who the fuck reads that shite anyway?).
According to them, Banksy is really Robert Gunningham. They even went and photographed the house that he grew up in. I’m not even going to post a link to the arseholes, but you can of course Google it if you like. I really liked Banksy’s response though:
You may have got the impression that I am a Banksy fan by now - indeed I am. I visited his free gallery in London a little while ago and it blew me away (even though only a few of the pieces were his), and I love, love, spotting his work around the city.
So this doesn’t have much to do with tshirts, except the fact that I’ve always thought that his designs would make awesome shirts.
